# Filament Settings

Under the filament settings tab, you can set the extrusion temperature, bed temperature and cooling fan percentage for print cooling. Another important setting here is the extrusion multiplier setting which affects the filament extrusion rate. Other settings here manipulate the print speed for cooling purposes as well as weight of used filament calculation.

**Calculating the extrusion multiplier is crucial to get accurate filament deposition and avoiding overextrusion or underextrusion. Read more here:**

**Max volumetric speed is tied to the filament's extrusion rate and print speed. Find out more about it here:**

**Print cooling settings are important for certain filaments that need a lot of cooling or very little at all. Read about it here:**

# Agent Instructions: Querying This Documentation

If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter:

```
GET https://ms-kb.msd.unimelb.edu.au/next-lab/3d-printing/open-access-printers/prusa-open-access/software-slicer-glossary/filament-settings.md?ask=<question>
```

The question should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
