## Introduction

A marking gauge is the tool to use for marking out your joinery.

## A Great Reason for Using a Marking Gauge

**Accuracy:** If you have multiple parts to mark out, using a marking gauge will make sure you have the same marks on every piece. The marking gauge will leave a very clear and sharp line that is more accurate to work to than a pencil line.

## Materials

**Timber:** The marking gauges can be used on timber and plywood.
