Thicknesser

The Thicknesser is a large machine which encloses a cutting head, rollers and an adjustable flat bed. It is used to produce a consistent thickness across a timber board's surface one side at a time.

Introduction

After timber has been processed with one Flat Surface and one Straight Edge by the Planer, the other surfaces can be made flat and square with this machine.

Two Good Reasons To Use A Thicknesser

1 Flat Face: This is a process of machining a Flat Surface parallel to the first already made with the Planer. This is automated by the machine's rollers and a cutting head, with the thickness of the board determined by the user manually adjusting the height of the bed.

2 Straight Edge: Producing a second Straight Edge parallel to the first generated with the Planer makes a timber board completely square. This is automated by machines rollers, and a cutting head, with the thickness of the board determined by the user manually adjusting the height of the bed. The height to width ratio is important in this operation, please consult a workshop technician for further guidance.

It is important not to use material shorter than 400mm in length in this machine. Please see the workshop technicians for further guidance and safe operation of this machine.
