Access

The Hot Wire Foam Cutters are available to students and staff who have completed the Building Access Induction AND the Level 01 - Safety Induction.

These can be completed using the links below:

Machine Safety

It is the students' responsibility to wear appropriate clothing in the FabLab Model Making space.

When using the hot wire foam cutters ensure that you are:

  • Wearing closed toe shoes.

  • Working underneath exhaust tubes.

  • Your hair is tied back.

When working with or around another person using the hot wire foam cutters, please be mindful of space and objects placed around the machines.

Make sure offcuts are being disposed of into the bins provided to avoid clutter.

Never touch the wire with your hands unless you are 100% sure the machine is OFF.
