One of the greatest enemies of good welding is contamination. The cleaner you can make your material, the more likely you are to have a successful weld.

Cleaning Joins

For most the most common welding type, MIG welding of mild steel, having a super clean joins is not overly important. However, with more complex welding applications, such as TIG welding stainless steel, the components should be as clean as possible. Clean materials allow for the best possible weld.

For this purpose we use an AJAX cleaning powder

  • Use PPE - Safety glasses, disposable gloves

  • Use a damp rag with ajax to scrub the surface then clean off the residual with a clean damp cloth, allow to dry
