The MSD Maker Spaces are currently open to staff and students.

Under the current alert level, the MSD Maker Spaces are open and operating under social-distancing guidelines. Students and staff must check-in when entering the MSD building and follow any additional prompts for contact tracing. Specific capacities for each space are displayed within the Maker Spaces and should be respected at all times.

Like the rest of the campus, the ABP Maker Spaces are liable to close all campus-based services if there is a change in alert levels. Some bureau services may still operate if the Parkville campus is closed - these may include the online submission for services such as laser cutting, 3d printing and CNC. These will only be available at alert levels where in-person collection is allowed.

Please check back to this page for information on which services are currently available, as well as current alternatives.

Support and Contact

Additionally to the usual in-person services, the Maker Spaces team are providing online technical support via Zoom. Students looking for help and advice who would prefer an online consultation can make a booking (requires university login).

In the event of a lockdown, face-to-face services will be suspended. The Guru service will still be available to support students in making from home and can be contacted using the phone number below:
