Some frequently asked questions at MSD Media Hub
Where is the Media Hub located?
The Media Hub is located on level 1 in the MSD building. Room 127
Can you print without a Student Card?
Yes. However this is not possible on the Quick Print computers in the Media Hub.
You will first need to print the job from a computer in the MSD building, whilst logged into your account.
Log into the University's PaperCut release server here.
Find the printer you have sent the job to.
Click 'Release', the job will then join the printer's Queue and charge your account.
How do I reload my card?
Login to the Student Print portal.
Select 'Account Recharge'
Enter your password and select 'Sign In'
Enter Top-Up Amount and select 'Continue'
Enter your details and select 'Continue'
Enter card details and select 'Continue'
Your payment will be processed, and a 'success' message will be displayed.
There are no physical currency stations on campus for card recharge anymore.
Balance might take a while to successfully load unto the card, please ensure you do this in advance to avoid issues.
Can Copy and Scan for free?
Copying and Scanning is free on MSD 1 using 80gsm paper. MSD 2 can only scan, not copy.
What happens if the ink runs out?
Please inform a Media Hub Staff member present. If no Media Hub Staff are available, head down to the NExT Lab and ask a Staff member for assistance. If after hours do not print, and apply for a refund for all failed jobs.

Why is my release job not printing?
Ensure documents are properly sized as A4 or A3. Custom sizing will pause entire print queue.
Ensure that documents are released from the quick release printers
Ensure your file is a PDF and printed through Adobe Acrobat. Non-PDF files have issues printing in some cases, these errors will not be refunded.
Ensure you file is properly Flattened and the file size does not exceed the limits specified here.
If it is still not printing, please find a Media Hub Staff member as the queue may be clogged. If after hours do not print, and apply for a refund for all failed jobs.
How do I ask for a refund?
Any amount lost due to printing issues (eg. paper jam) will be refunded on a case-by-case basis. Please submit your request via logging on to the Student Print portal. Select 'Recent Print Jobs', select the relevant print job, and click on 'request refund.'
If your refund is not approved after 5 business days, speak to the Media Hub Staff.
Can I use Webprint to print in the Media Hub?
No. The MSD Media Hub is only accessed via the computer labs or the quick print stations inside the room. Webprint is not supported in the MSD Media Hub.
Webprint will allow you to print to the MSD library basement and any other library on campus.
Why was my refund denied?
A refund will be denied for all cases of personal error.
These include:
Accidentally printing more pages.
Accidentally printing the wrong file.
Accidentally printing at the wrong scale or paper size.
Accidentally printing a non-PDF file.
Accidentally printing to the wrong printer.
Accidentally printing in Colour instead of B/W, or vice versa.
Any errors that occur when using the bypass tray to print on a different paper stock to what is supplied.
Remember to check the cost before you release the job.
Can I print from my own laptop?
No. Only computers in the MSD Building are able to print to the Media Hub, external computers will have no access.
Is there any where else to print in the MSD building?
There is a printer located in the basement of the library, you are able to print from your laptop to this printer through 'Web Print' . However you are limited to A4 paper only. This is not managed by the MSD Media Hub.
