# Book a Consultation

## General Consultations

For general questions regarding fabrication, basic file preparation, machines operation, laser cutting file set-up, materials or related subjects, students and staff are encouraged to book an in-person or online consultation so that the Makerspaces staff can be of assistance.

Due to the changed operational requirements of the Makers Spaces, the Guru (front desk) position will not be reinstated until further notice; however, Makerspaces staff are generally around and happy to answer any questions.

## Advanced Fabrication Consultations

The Digital Fabrication Lab also offers more directed consultations on our Metal Laser Cutter, CNC Machines, Powder Printer and Nylon Printer. These consultation sessions are designed to help your job specific questions and you must provide a file set up in our templates. Our more advanced machines will require you to book a machine specific consultation prior to job submission.

Before making a booking, it is expected that you have completed the Introductory and Expansion sessions and attempted to resolve the problem independently.

These consultations are **20 minutes** long and are able to be booked on selected weekdays between **12:00 pm - 2:00 pm**.
