Robotics Lab Services

Details of what services the Robotics Lab provides and how to access them.

The Robotics Lab provides training and access to developed capabilities. This includes Clay 3D Printing and Robotic Milling. The Robotics Lab also provides training and access to electronics equipment (such as soldering iron).

The Robotics Lab does not provide a bureau service, i.e. we do not do print objects in clay on request. What we do provide is training for staff and students on how to use the equipment and capabilities in the Robotics Lab. We are also able to assist staff and students with the development of new tools and projects.

Students

If you are a student within Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne, we can help you use any of our capabilities in your project (or as your project). We can also help you develop your own tools and/or robotic fabrication processes.

If you are a student at the University of Melbourne, please contact us to discuss what is possible.

Staff

If you are a staff member of Architecture, Building and Planning, we can help you with integrating robotic fabrication into your class, or with a research project. We are able to provide technical assistance (but are not able to provide research or teaching assistants). Please reach out to us to discuss your class or project in detail.

If you are a staff member outside of Architecture, Building and Planning, we are still open to collaborating on research projects. We have worked on research with our faculties and PhD students in the past. Please contact us to discuss.

Industry

If you are from industry, we are able to collaborate on research and development projects. Please contact us directly to discuss. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide commercial job services with our capabilities. However, we are able to direct you to commercial businesses that can assist you.
